Works Great Right up to 4.4

Although this hasn’t been updated for some years – it still works really well. I’ve used it on a variety of themes through all the version 3 WordPress installations and now on 4.4. No other plugin gives the same level of reliable control over what posts show where and when. All the selection options work – all the time. Many of other plugins have issues with category or individual post exclusion – this one works and keeps working.
