Works on some forms, not all

Please, do the following:
? WordPress Admin Page → Settings → Anti-Spam by CleanTalk → Advanced settings →
? → set the option “Protect external forms” to “On” →
? → set the option “Protect internal forms” to “On” → Save Changes.

Serge thanks for your response. Unfortunately, your suggestion did not work. I set the option “Protect internal forms” to “On” → Save Changes. Protect external forms was already set to “On”.

I cleared my browser and Siteground cache, logged out of WP admin, opened an incognito window in both Chrome and Windows, used [email protected] to test and it was not caught. On both browsers, I was able to go to the registration page to complete the signup.

I’ve tested the Create an Account web form from /home-default page. After I entered the spam email I was able to open the next page /register to complete the registration but me request was blocked after I completed all the steps and submitted the web form. Here is my blocked request: https://cleantalk.org/my/show_requests?request_id=e3f6124d13589cbdedffbf375d3c7cc7. Could you check if a user has been created with my test email address and name ‘Username’?

The protection is currently working for this web form.

Katereji, thanks for your response. Oh, i didn’t think to try and complete the registering process. You are correct, it does work once I tried to complete the sign-up process. But I was hoping there was a way to stop it at the “create an account’ level, not allowing them to proceed to the register page. If not, I can work with this as it is now. Thanks again.

Then try this option:
? WordPress Admin Page → Settings → Anti-Spam by CleanTalk → Advanced settings → set the option “Check email before POST request” to “On” → Save Changes.

Also, enabling the options Anti-Crawler and Anti-Flood might help as well.

Serge, I already have “Check email before POST request” to “On”. I have the Anti-Flood checked, but the Anti-Crawler is not checked because of requests from other users regarding the “browser spam bot is enabled” message that pops up. That page is annoying to me, and i agree it could scare off potential sign-ups.

I tested the signup form on the main page and I was blocked on my first try. See the picture:

The protection is working fine. You can check it too anytime if you want. Use these blacklisted email addresses for testing:

[email protected]
[email protected]

Serge, as stated earlier, I am referring to the Create an Account form not the sign-up button on the top of the page. You tested the sign-up button on the top of the page.

Then yes, the protection works just like Kate described earlier.

Ok, that’s fine. Just that it would be ideal if the spam was caught at step one and not allow them spammer to proceed to the sign-up page. All-in-all though, i like this plugin and will be upgrading. Thanks Serge.
