Works perfectly without messing with my database

The blog I use the plugin on is a sort of diary. Since I moved from country to country, I switched languages quite a few times. For many years, there was no problem with umlauts and accents (German, French, Italian), but some weeks ago — probably after a WordPress update — everything was messed up.
Since I’m too inexperienced to mumble jumble in the database, this plugin is the perfect solution for me. The umlauts and accents are displayed correctly, and I don’t have to touch any database at all.
