Hi @trakesh16, thanks for getting in touch.

There may be some specific Live Traffic blocks happening when PayPal attempts to connect back to your site. When clicking any block line (or “eye” icon) on blocks that appear during this process, it will state the reason in red text. The easiest way to test is to attempt a transaction that’s failing, then check Live Traffic for the most recent entry at the top of the list.

Sometimes, depending on the issue, an “ADD PARAM TO FIREWALL ALLOWLIST” button appears in this section which you can click to allow these types of request in future.

Also, Learning Mode can help easily allow normal site/plugin operations if they’re being blocked as false-positives. From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. You could then attempt to complete the PayPal payment process again to teach Wordfence these are normal and should be allowed in future. After your testing, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting to see if they continue to work.

If you still encounter problems, it’d be helpful to see the block reason message you’re getting in Live Traffic so we can take a look.

    Thanks,
    Peter.

Did not found any entry in live traffic for IPN and also firewall is in learning mode already. What else I can do?

    Hi @trakesh16, thanks for clarifying.

If there’s no recent Live Traffic entry and Learning Mode is already on, are there any messages returned from PayPal upon failure? Even if it’s just a message in the browser rather than your account, it might help work out what might be happening. You can also search Live Traffic for any past instances of your nominated IPN page being involved in a block.

Common other reasons for this failure can be Country Blocking (for Wordfence Premium customers, but thought I’d mention it just in case), or a manual IP block. Do you have any manually added, or other IP addresses in your Wordfence > Blocking page?

    Thanks again,
    Peter.
