• I am freaking out!

Twice today after uploading a mp3 via the Media Page, my wordpress website completely crashed!

The content is still there but the theme and menu are screwed up and the widgets are gone! I have to re-do everything from scratch – title, menus, widgets, footer… Each time, it took me over a hour! I don’t know what to do to avoid this in the future! I could upload all my files through FTP or the cPanel but really, wordpress shouldn’t reset my website for something like that!

I have the new 4.1.1 version.

    Anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks

  • lrulanne,

Who are you hosting your website with. Would you provide a link to your site so that I may take a look.

There are a couple of possible issues that may exist here. First, how did you install your WP? Did you FTP it or do a one click install through cPanel via your hosting provider? Secondly, it could very well be a theme issue.

Which theme are you currently using?

The website is hosted by Dinohost.
The theme was designed with the latest version of Artisteer (I use this for all my websites).
I installed all my wordpress sites from the cPanel.
I haven’t changed or updated anything recently. I really don’t know what happened.
At first, I thought it was because my Internet Explorer crashed at the same time I was uploading a mp3. So I used Chrome to log back in and do the “repairs”. As soon as I uploaded a mp3, the website went back to a total mess again >_<

    The website is here: https://www.irulanne.com

May I recommend trying a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Also, can you try a standard theme just for testing purpose such as the new 2015 theme to see if any possible issues may reside within your theme you created.

It may be a conflict with the PHP. However, changing theme for a moment just for testing purposes will go a long way to identify that issue. My apologies for not responding quicker, I had an emergency to attend to.
