• Started using this about 2 yrs ago. Abandoned it and tried to get it going because we spend about $200 on addons, which is a scam.
let me just say that this app does not work and the developers put a half completed app out on the market to get peoples money for addons.
So we lost almost $200. I’m going to post this in every corner of the web so everyone knows how bad this app is.
We have tested it and CONFIRMED it does not work. Won’t backup, can’t connect to sites, etc..
And the support is horrible!! They won’t admit their app is broken.
Makes me wonder how secure it is as well. It gives unrestricted access to your site.
I would avoid this app at all costs. The positive reviews are from the developers themselves.

I completely agree. I am not one usually to complain, much less one to give 1-star ratings, but our experiences over the past 1.5 years tells me, they have stopped investing in development and support and are only trying to cash in.

Hate to be the one to say it, but with one-time payment model there is no real motivation for the developer to keep the client happy – the focus is on getting more new users.

That’s why we at ManageWP built our service the other way around. With our subscription based model you get to vote with your wallet:

    • We do a good job making you happy, we get paid
    • We don’t do a good job, you stop paying

And then there’s the added benefit of not feeling remorse of pouring in $400 into something that does not work for you.

@0rca : We have invested heavily in backup technology over the past few months. We wrote multi-call concept from the scratch to help backup get better. But it is having bugs which is related to host environments again. So we are doing our best to make the tool better.

    Thanks
    David.

I don’t see the strength of this software in backups. I see it in day to day maintenance. Spend the money on backup buddy and use this for your everyday. This is a pretty good piece of software as far as I’m concerned. Oh, yeah, and it’s FREE so you are welcome to a refund if you like. SMH

I’m with patrickhealy. For me the value in this software is not the backups (we use another premium plugin for this), but in being able to keep the WP core, plugins & themes on all our managed client sites easily and quickly updated. We use one of the IWP addons for optimizing/maintenance. I really like that the product works without addons, and the addons can be purchased separately so you only pay for the functions that you really need.

That said, IWP does require a certain technical level to set up. The documentation is relatively good, but given the great variety of hosting environments, some of that set up is variable.

This post has turned into a review rather than a support request. (Yes, I realize I have contributed to that.) I’m going to close this ticket, but if there are specific issues that users need help with, please do open a new request with details about the problem you are having.
