• Not only this update in a terrible downgrade in terms of functionality. But you can’t disable “Events Tracking” and “Enhanced Link Attribution” in the setup wizard, which probably makes it terrible for GDPR compatibility.

    How could Exact Metrics make such terrible decisions?

    Enhanced Link Attribution can be disabled on the settings panel & also is master-controlled by the settings in your GA account as well.

    Events tracking doesn’t/can’t run if tracking isn’t running for that user

    Thank you for your answer, which is indeed useful. But you still can’t uncheck the corresponding boxes in the setup wizard!

    I’ll get someone to take a look at that. I know we just did an update to fix an obscure animation bug in some versions of Safari, but we can look into that for a future update

    I also cannot turn off Events Tracking. The control is disabled.

    This is causing me problems, as I already have my own events for tel and mailto, and I’m now getting double counts in my analytics.

    Using Chrome, so has nothing to do with Safari. I can see in the HTML the checkbox is disabled.

    <div class="exactmetrics-settings-input-checkbox"><label class="exactmetrics-styled-checkbox-faux"><span tabindex="" class="exactmetrics-styled-checkbox exactmetrics-styled-checkbox-checked has-tooltip" data-original-title="null"></span><input type="checkbox" disabled="disabled"><span class="exactmetrics-checkbox-label">Events Tracking</span><span class="exactmetrics-checkbox-description">Must have for all click tracking on site.</span><span tabindex="0" class="exactmetrics-info has-tooltip" data-original-title="null"><i class="monstericon monstericon-info-circle-regular"></i></span><!----></label><!----></div>
