Worthless

Does not do anything useful.

Wow really? It completely changes how galleries show up in your posts. Did you even try the plugin and displaying a gallery on your site?
Still waiting on a valid reason why you posted this review…?
I apologize for my delay in following up on this.
You ask for a “valid” reason why I posted this review. I have tried your plugin again from a completely “Vanilla” WP 3.5 install. Here was my experience:
I make a “default” WP gallery of nice, big images, then I activate your plugin. I end up with a “slider” of those images, full size, with a very thin strip below this slider which seems to be meant as “thumbnails”. However, for some reason these thumbnails show only the very top of each image, and at full width, which I can’t imagine is anyone’s idea of how thumbnails should work.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/10307726/galleryPlugin.pngYour plugin has no “Settings” whatsoever to change this default behavior. So, I stand by my original review of it being “worthless”, although I acknowledge it was unfair and unhelpful of me to have failed to provide more details. While it’s true that your plugin “completely changes how galleries show up”, I think the average developer would agree with me, that it’s of no practical use.
At least you came back and explained yourself, but apparently you failed to read the plugins description. The plugin is for users, not developers, and as you can see from the other reviews, they don’t think its worthless. I expect 1 star for broken but hey, i guess you were really upset that it did exactly what it claims.
PS You apparently weren’t using a vanilla install, as we clearly showcase on the demo a “vanilla install with the plugin working”.

Yes, completely Vanilla install of WP 3.5. Added image gallery to “Sample Page”, activated your plugin, the result was what you see in the screenshot. I think you’ll agree this is NOT what the gallery looks like in your demo so, I’m not sure why you’d expect more than one star. Or, maybe it only works with “Featured Image”, in which case you should specify that.
You could have very easily found that this is a limitation of the way WordPress builds thumbnails, and the solution, all provided already.

From the screenshot it actually appears to be working perfectly, you simply need to address that WordPress doesn’t have properly sized thumbnails for your site.
The FAQ also clearly states there are no options pages. I’m not sure after you read plugins description, FAQ, and Screenshots (assuming you read it), why you would have expected the plugin to do anything different. Apparently its just not for you.
If you think, from my screenshot, that your plugin is “working perfectly” with all the default Gallery settings, from a Vanilla install, I guess we’ll agree to disagree.
Always taking my comments out of context, I said, if you dealt with your thumbnails, everything would be fine. You do realize this a free plugin and free support forum? If you can build a better plugin, its GPL, fork it and make it better! I’ll be happy to refer them to your plugin.
So, I’m the idiot for not “dealing with my thumbnails” before giving negative feedback on your plugin? Hmm, I thought
The purpose of this plugin was to be “plug and play” no options, just turn it on and have a nicer gallery.
I suppose that’s “out of context” as well.
Your plugin shouldn’t work properly out of the box… because it’s free? And, people shouldn’t leave negative feedback in the support forum by the same logic? How about you doing at least some rudimentary QA on your plugin before wasting people’s time with it?
The plugin does work out of the box. There is a FAQ on the plugin page… as you can see several other people already rated the plugin with 5 stars. They obviously had no issues with it. I’d be happy to fix any problems… but you haven’t identified any.
The forum is to support plugin users, had you reviewed it for your thumbnail issue you would have seen how to correct the issue. Had you installed the plugin before you uploaded your gallery photos, it would have worked without a hitch. We are limited to WordPress’s functionality and they generate thumbnails on upload. If you have anything useful to suggest, feel free. If your plan is to simply bash the plugin because “you just didn’t like it” please take your banter elsewhere.

Wait… is this mentioned in your FAQ… let me check…
NO.
worth·less (adjective) without worth; of no use, importance, or value;
I’d hardly warrant you request for the FAQ to be updated an indication of a 1 star plugin.
FAQ – F is for Frequently, this is not a frequent question, therefor is stays in the support forum.
Anything else you would like to argue upon accuracy? I’m still not seeing the purpose of your review, it not helping the community with your sarcastic and attempt at nit picking issues that aren’t actually issues.
No, I don’t wish to argue accuracy further. You’ve really put me in my place.
I now realize: the fact that the plugin was worthless to me is because I wasn’t willing to read through all the issues in the support forum and find out that it only works properly if you install the plugin BEFORE you add a WP image gallery. I’m sure no one else will EVER have this issue again. It’s so completely intuitive!
Five stars!
