Hi. I help out a lot of the forums answering questions, entirely just because I like to help and often I learn something through trying to figure out the problem.

Now I totaly understand why you should never offer your services in the forums, its all about empowering people. However I noticed that WP has even gone so far as to hide your website, and I think it would be a nice little tit for tat if we could at least have our website links on display so if someone really liked the help we gave they could choose to navigate to our website.

What do you guys think? I think it would give intensive for more helpers to spend time. There would of course need to be bans for anyone who withheld information or pointed to theire link.

Your website displays on your profile if someone visits your profile, I’m not sure what you mean. It even displays next to your avatar if you’ve helped out a lot.

Weird, I don’t see it displayed when I look at my profile.

Oh maybe I’m just seeing it because I’m a moderator, yeah I thought it always did show. Maybe it’ll show when it appears next to your gravatar.

I just logged out and it doesn’t show for me, but then again, maybe I have to be logged in to view your profile link.

I can’t win, I’ll let a normal and more informative member help you with this thread ??

Thanks anyways. What qualifies you as having helped out enough to get it in your avatar?

It’s some secret formula that nobody but the guy who built it knows, seriously lol, and that guy won’t tell :p
It doesn’t take much I think, helping out with 300 threads?

    Actually probably half that

I’m a “normal” member and I don’t see a URL in your profile either.

On a regular threads page, I also don’t see Andrew’s URL — I have to look at his profile specifically to see it. Username is not clickable, while that is the case for other members though!

You do have your website in your avatar too, so it must be that when you answer enough post, you get it both in your avatar and on your profile. Until then you don’t get either. Because I deffinitly have my website in the website field.

Not too woried anyways as I have been helping a lot of people so I will get it soon. I guess that is actually a really nice reward feature already build in ??

I don’t have a URL set by the way Senff

Edit: Just realised I forgot to remove it in that other profile place; https://profiles.www.ads-software.com/

Add to the confusion that there are currently two profile pages, where some info is showing on one page and not on the other, but I believe that is on the list of being merged/combined/streamlined.

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/profile/adrian-houle
    https://profiles.www.ads-software.com/adrian-houle

But indeed, the username becomes a clickable link to the website once you participate more on this forum (like my profile).
