    You’re Welcome

You’ll want to use the “all in one seo pack” plugin. When you are editing your page you’ll scroll down to the bottom to find an option that let’s you control how the link shows up in the menu.

Here’s a video to learn more about all in one seo pack. It’s a free plugin anyone should consider using to optimize their pages for search engines. It just happens to also let you control how you page shows up in the menu. https://bit.ly/Aq9LnN

    Enjoy!

Thanks again Joseph but I must be doing something wrong. I uploaded the plugin and enabled it and followed everything on the video but in order for my page to show up on my menu under the parent tab i have it listed under I have to have the title in the title box on the top of the page and that’s what I was trying to get rid of. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

    P.S. I like your site!

    Thanks!

I’ll do a quick trial on my own site and see what’s up.

What’s your site? and which menu are you trying to change?

Awesome, thanks. I am currently redoing my site, you can find the one I’m working on at new.toughtalkradionetwork.com I have our hosted shows menu. the menu is fine I just want to be able to have the page show up under the menu without having the name on the top of the page. You can go to any of them and see what I mean.

    Ok…

I was just testing this to make sure I’m telling you correctly. When editing your page, scroll to the bottom.

Here’s the blanks you fill in for the All In One SEO Pack.
    TITLE
    DESCRIPTION
    KEYWORDS
    TITLE ATTRIBUTE
    MENU LABEL

Whatever you put in “Menu Label” is what actually shows when visitors look at your page links. So you should be able to keep “Meet Joseph B. Shaw” as your title, but have the menu label read “ABOUT” in your link menu.

Here’s a picture of where I just changed my “MEET JOSEPH B. SHAW” page to show “ABOUT” in the Menu. https://bit.ly/waXQft
If you visit [link in breach of WordPress trademark policy moderated] you’ll see where my menu now shows “ABOUT”.

Let me know if that works for you.

    Joseph

No luck. I’m not sure it its because its a drop down menu or what. But as soon as I erase the page name from the top of the page it no longer shows up in the menu at all even when I put it below in the SEO pack.

Wait… did you enable the SEO Pack?

From the Dashboard go to Settings/All In One SEO Pack.

On this settings page you should see an option that reads…
    PLUGIN STATUS

Make sure it’s set to enabled.

If it is already enabled then your theme must be overriding this plugin or preventing it from working in your drop down menus because it’s flash or something.

    Let me know.
Sorry we couldn’t get any further.

    Best wishes!
    Joseph

Yep enabled – Its the Fresh News Theme and I am not using any flash. Oh well guess its not meant to be. Thanks for all your help Joseph, I appreciate your time.

Ok, I went back and re-read one of your posts that I missed. I think I mis-understood something.

An example section you’re talking about is under “Our Hosted Shows” and then “HEALTH CHAT”.

If I understand now… it shows in the menu the way you want, but you don’t want the words HEALTH CHAT to show in the actual post once the visitor lands on the Health Chat post?

Yes, that’s correct. Can that be done?

I’m not sure… I’ll look into it, but it will be in the morning. I’m passing out here… ??

If I haven’t posted by 11am contact me through my site and I’ll check it out.

    have a good night!

    Wendy,

Ok I did some research and I don’t see any way to do this without getting into doing some code. It can be done, but you’ll probably want to hire someone if you really want to do it.

    See https://forum.freelanceswitch.com/topic.php?id=6931
as an example of possible coding solutions.
