HI….You create a nice blog.Do more customization and keep it update.

Thanks. My plan is to update three times a week. I’m trying to see how much content I can come up with on a regular basis.

Nice blog, loads of quality content already.
anyways, here are a few things you can improve on:

1) Your theme is clear and simple, but it will require some customizations. Atleast get a custom header with a decent logo. In the long run, try to get a premium theme, it will improve the looks.

2) Use feedburner – i see that you are still using the default wordpress feeds. Try feedburner and you will see the difference.

3) You have good content on your blog, but the presentation can still be better. Add some list based posts, make some headings etc.

Thanks for the pointers. I’ll give them a shot. I’ve already found a premium theme I want to use, just have to make some time to install it and get everything running.

I tried to use feedburner but haven’t got it figured out yet or I just don’t get what it’s supposed to do. I’ll get it eventually. ??

my suggestions are

1. the three images that load in the lower part of the page (author,etc), take a long time to load. I believe they are very high resolution images are and being shrunk down. Possibly try saving those three images to a smaller size.

2. The title of the blog “The Unfolding Myth” is currently broken into two lines, I would suggest dropping the type size a bit so the three words fit into one line.

3. in the ‘about’ link, mention a bit more about who you are. If people are interested in the writing, they would like to know who is this personality.

4. The page title is currently set at “Home|The Unfolding Myth”. This may not be too helpful for search engine optimization. You might want to expand that page title as ” The Unfolding Myth – works by author name” or whatever.
Basically in a few words explain what this site is about, along with the title

5. This is just a personal opinion. Set your slide show to ‘fade’ rather than random or shuffle. It would probably reflect better with the title name (i.e “The Unfolding Myth”.

Thanks, I took that picture with my phone at a friends house. I was standing on a bench holding my phone up as high as I could, to get a nice perspective. That was the wallpaper on my phone for last summer.

The custom theme definitely helped. Custom themes are the main reason I switched from WordPress.com to .org. Feedburner kind of sucks, but it’s pretty much the only free tool out there like it. My main issue is that a good number of people fail to verify their email addresses and there is no way to auto-verify them or send automated reminders to verify. If they lose the verification email or it gets sent to their spam box, the only way to activate them is to delete their account and ask them to resubscribe.

I was considering replacing feedburner with the JetPack subscription form, but my theme from Theme Junkie has a lot of feedburner hooks built in and I don’t have time right now to overhaul that code. Maybe in the future.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll look into JetPack. Now that I’m starting to get some traffic to my site I want to make it as easy as possible for people to come back when there’s something new to read.
