I notice that you have had to drop the ‘continuous playback’ option and replace it with a pop-up option. I have the tried the demo and it works quite well but it obviously will be a little misleading for some users who may not understand what the ‘pop-up’ icon on the player actually means. I can imagine some of my members getting frustrated with the repeated song starts and it may take them a while to realise that a pop-up option exists and what it does.

Just an idea but perhaps you could offer admin the option of replacing the controls inside the player with a script (maybe user definable) like “Would you like some music?”. Then on visiting the site the user will notice the option and will have no doubt what it offers and what will happen if they select it. Much easier!

    Your welcome!

The other option that would be really useful would be the ability to delay the start of the song when in normal mode and the page is switched. The real problem with the music restarting is that it coincides with the click of the new page which only highlights the problem. Admin could have the option to delay the start the delay of the song (user definable in seconds) at each page change thereby making it less noticeable to the user that it’s restarting each time.

A small fade out on the end of the previous track as the page is exited would also be nice, making it less abrupt. A buffer of a few seconds would allow this and make it sound much more professional.

    Two other suggestions.

    1. Surely there should be some information when the users hover over the play button. i.e. “play”, “open in pop-up” and “stop”. This would make the player easier to use and would be expected on a player anyway.

    2. The best solution of all is to have the option of a script only button which when clicks automatically opens in a pop-up thus taking the stop-start problem out of the equation completely. On loading the site the user will see button saying “Play Music” (could be user definable), the user would then click the button which opens the pop-up. Perfect! Self-explanatory and completely easy to use with no fuss.
