Hi @ntokozodev
Sorry to hear you feel it is slow on Bulk Smush.
When the website has multiple images it can indeed take some time the first time, later on, you can enable the optimisation on Upload.
However, we are working on Parallel optimization https://wpmudev.com/roadmap/#smush It will speed up the Smush process, it is coming soon.
Our team is also working on the background image so you will optimize the images without keeping the page open, we don’t have the estimated time yet, but as soon as we release the Parallel optimization we will update the roadmap, you can subscribe to the page to receive notifications.
For now, if you have some experience with WP-CLI, you can use the command line: https://wpmudev.com/docs/api-plugin-development/smush-api-docs/#wp-cli
So you could use the screen command in Linux https://linuxize.com/post/how-to-use-linux-screen/ to keep it running.
“The plugin can’t optimize images.”
Could you please let us know if you found any issue with the process or is it related to keeping the page open?
Please, keep eye on our plugin updates and we hope to convert it into a 5 stars experience.
Best Regards
Patrick Freitas
