• Update 8/12/19. Changed from two to 4 stars. It’s working now, at least for reviews. IDK why-I didn’t change anything in the config. I just tried switching it on and submitting to Search Console as an experiment.

Update 12/4/18. Changed from one to two stars. They finally replied back to me after about a week. They claimed the delay was bc they had escalated it to the engineering team and they couldn’t figure it out. But, the reply back came after this negative review as posted. The issue was never resolved but they voluntarily reimbursed me.

This plugin has potential but be careful.

    ———-

I am an advanced WordPress user who’s very skilled at SEO. I evaluated all the Schema plugins and was really excited about this one. I installed the plugin and:

    1) I carefully configured a product review page according to the documentation
    2) MY PAGE WAS DEINDEXED BY GOOGLE!!!!
    3) I purchased Pro user and am getting ZERO support despite submitting multiple tickets
    4) I’ve tried other schemas on other pages, nothing shows in SERPs

Avoid this plugin, and def don’t spend $50 on Pro until there’s evidence that this has been resolved on their end.

  • Hey, what would you recommend, since you are an expert?

Also to mention, I use The SEO Framework, but I thought of installing the Schema App Structured Data plugin. But it might not be that necessary, IDK.

Sorry, I still haven’t figured out the best solution.

Do you have any proof that your page was de-indexed because of this plugin?

    – I purchased Pro user and am getting ZERO support despite submitting multiple tickets.
    I agree they’re slow.

    – I’ve tried other schemas on other pages, nothing shows in SERPs.
Can’t agree on this! I am not a Fan of this plugin, nor an author or anyone from technical support.
I am using this Plugin on my website, and I can see the SERPs showing up on Google. Make sure your site is optimized for your keywords, you can’t just add this plugin and expect to show up on Google without doing any work.

The only way to check if you have properly optimized the Schema and if this plugin is working fine is by checking the Google Tester Tool:
    https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/

If the schema shows up on this tool, then nothing wrong with this plugin.

Hi Guys, sorry for any confusion on this and for letting you down on support.

We’re going to try to do a better job on this next year.

As for de-indexing, there is virtually not way using this plugin correctly is going to get a site de-indexed, however, you can misuse it and get a manual action. Specifically we’ve seen this happen with reviews when people spam Google with review schema when it’s either not on the web page, or when it’s on the page put the source of the review is the site itself.

What we struggle with on support is that most people aren’t asking for support, they are asking for support on SEO and SEO consulting, which we can’t really do.

There are two things to remember with the plugin:

    1. You can test your markup with Google to know that it is installed correctly here:

    https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/

    2. Read the documentation and rules, and understand that adding markup is no guarantee that rich data will show in the search results, it only increases the chances:

    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/sd-policies

“Google does not guarantee that your structured data will show up in search results, even if your page is marked up correctly according to the Structured Data Testing Tool”

Once again, sorry to let you down guys. We built this plugin for in-house use only and decided to share with the community on WP. In hindsight, that was a probably a mistake and we should have kept it for internal use only as it’s costing us more money to support the free version. But for now, as long as we keep getting encouragement and support from our general user base, we will keep going.

Good news today, we just added support for Q&A on the pro version.

    Hi Remy,

Sorry for the delay on this…we did investigate this as it was beyond the knowledge of our baseline support.

All our plugin does is correctly install schema according to Google’s guidelines, and this can be tested at:

    https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool

HOWEVER: if you add review schema markup to a page, but the review text in not on the front-end of the page, Google may send you a manual action for spammy schema markup. Did you receive a message in Google Search Console?

Also, just because you add schema to a page does not mean Google will display it in the results.

    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/sd-policies

“Google does not guarantee that your structured data will show up in search results, even if your page is marked up correctly according to the Structured Data Testing Tool”

Again, all our plugin does is add schema markup according to Google guidelines, but if user add schema to pages incorrectly (ie adding a review where they review text is not actually on the page), you could get flagged.

Thanks for giving our plugin a try.

We are happy to give you a full refund if you are not satisfied.
