• EDIT: I’m modifying my review because I’ve realised my frustrations were with Freemius and not with the plugin itself.

The plugin works well- simple and effective

Hi. Thank you for trying the plugin.

I double checked the plugin and I don’t see the “spammy advertising” that you are referring to.

1- The plugin indicates in the description on the plugins directory and on the wp-admin’s welcome page, that it is a free version and it’s limited to showing certain pages in the frontend.

It’s limited to the list of blog posts, The blog post editor, The list of blog categories, The list of blog tags.

2- I recorded a video showing how it works for a free user according to the available features:

The available features work perfectly for a free user and the free version is useful.

    3- Notes
    – In the dashboard, the plugin doesn’t show any notices or any content outside our own page. Our page provides all the relevant information for the user:
    a) how to use the plugin (with a screenshot)
    b) features available
    c) features not available
    d) Links for tutorials showing what’s possible with the available features and extra features, in case the user wants to know more about the plugin

    – When you “ignore” the indications and try to use a feature that’s not available, we show a message indicating that the feature is not available. This is to improve the user experience, otherwise, we would leave them stranded, wondering why one page works in the frontend and not the other.

    – The checkout page follows all the plugin guidelines.

Thanks but I think we just have differing opinions on how things come across with the requests for information, the constant upsells and the invasiveness of loading a third party checkout page on someone’s site. It’s not cool, whether it’s technically allowed or not. I’m seeing loads of other threads on the forum about the same thing with this fremius thing so I guess I’m not alone.
