• Hi all,

Over the past few days I’ve had a chance to *finally* download and play with WP 1.5. It’s Incredible! (an understatement)

I plan on using it to power a hybrid blog/content site. My question is: Is there a way to add dozens, maybe a hundred or more article pages and have one link on the main page leading to another page that lists the article titles?

My concern is that I don’t want a huge list of links showing up on my main page.

This is probably easy to do but I thought I’d ask here first before I started tearing the guts out of such an amazing piece of scripting. With WP 1.5, code really IS poetry ??

  • Do you have this monster listing ready to go ?
If it is generated by php, you’ll need to use the ‘runPHP’ plugin (there are 3 I believe and they are not identical so you may need to check each one out)

    Should be very possible though

    Hi podz,

I see what you’re saying. I’d need to use one of the plugins to enable php to run within the page itself to get the list to show up, right?

If that’s the case – Cool. Then I can just pull that code out of the main template and replace it with a hard coded link to that page and it’ll act sorta like a sitemap for the articles.

Edit: Oh yeah, I have the articles already. They freely reprintable from article directories and announcement lists, plus a few I’ve written myself. They’re all in plain txt format so they’ll be easy to drop into the site with WP 1.5. I love the new built in CMS features. Makes my life a whole lot easier. /edit

Thanks podz. Your suggestion is appreciated ??

I would be inclined to create a new page template. Create the page to display said list. associate the template with the page. Then add the fancy php call.

    Root,

More food for thought. That would mean I could do even further customization of the articles section of the site, if it had it’s own dedicated template. Nice!

    Thanks a million…
