Prior to upgrading to WP 2.2 from 2.1, I was using various King widgets, including a text widget that allowed PHP execution. Those plugins appear to be incompatible with 2.2’s built-in widget functionality. That’s fine, though, because the King widgets haven’t been upgraded in eons, so I didn’t mind finding replacements.

To take on the job of handling PHP in widgets, I tried both ExecPHP and Samsarin PHP Widget. Neither worked properly. Whenever I have more than one of these widgets (of the same type) in use at one time, the contents of the first instance of the widget to be evaluated are copied to every other instance. This happens even with empty contents. For instance, if the the first copy of the PHP widget has a title of “First” and the second has a title of “Second”, the title of both instances will appear to be “First” when the page loads.

Anybody know what’s wrong and how to fix it?
