    …however, if you put it together with another wordpress 2.7 comment extension, the ability to use wp_list_comments to separate comments and pings, as in:

    wp_list_comments('type=comment')

    the result is that not only the title of the comments (“x things have been said”) will still consider comments+pings, which doesn’t matter, but comment pagination will generate pages for both pings+comments.

    If you test this on a post with lots of pings and comments, the horrible result is that you will have always one or two empty comment pages at the end, that are in the way especially as soon as the user posts a new comment.
