• All plugins and upgrades/updates installed from within WP 2.7 are being given the owner “nobody” and I’m therefore unable to alter them (and in some cases, even use them). I now have this problem on three WP installs on the same server.

I’m on a shared cpanel account, so I know I can’t fix this myself, but what do I tell the hoster to do so they can fix it? Fix it so this doesn’t keep happening, I mean.

There has to be a solution – or everyone using WP on an apache server would be complaining.

  • Search for a php file editor of some variety, since it also would run as user nobody. You may also be able to use the cpanel’s file browser in the same way.

I’m not sure how to fix it from happening again though, permissions on a shared host is always annoying ??
