WP 3.0 RC3

  • OK so I installed WP 3.0 RC 3 and I got my main blog all upgraded. Then I enabled MULTI and set up the skeletons of 2 other blogs. One is an existing blog and the other one will be new so I can start from scratch with it. But about migrating the existing blog: The deal is it was in the same database but all its data has different previxes. The old version I was running was 2.8.4 So how can I get the data from the old blog into the new installation?

    I still have the old blog software, but I broke the domain because I enabled wildcards. So I hope to bring this old bog back up on a new domain and then do an import. Can anyone thing of anything better? And will it snafu that they are both sucking on the same database?

    Just for the record I brought the old blog back up with some ugly hacks, successfully exported the xml and imported it into the new one. Eventually I will clear those old tables.

    An XML ex/import is probably the way to do in that case. ??
