• Just upgraded to WP 3.0.5. …. and now I cannot insert img tags in comments. They just eaten up by the WP – source code in the published comment is empty.

I tried different themes – same result.

Also I tried to insert images using filter add_filter(“comment_text”,…) (I develop plugin which renders LaTeX equations into images) – same result.

Under admin or logged out – same result.

Also, I cannot see img tags in comments when I browse them through admin (“Comments” menu) and in front-end pages/posts.

And one more – pre tags in comments also are being eaten up by WP 3.0.5 – nothing get through sanitization/security enhancement???

I have strong feeling this is related to new feature of WP 3.0.5:
“Enhancement: Force HTML filtering on comment text in the admin”

Any idea what is going on?

  • I’m using WP 3.0.5 and I can create a custom menu (Appearance > Menus) but I’m unable to reorder them. They are stuck.

I installed and activated hotfix.0.3 and that didn’t fix the problem.

I also deactivated ALL my plugins and that didn’t fix the problem either.

    What next please?

    Thanks
    Steve

    Hi,

Same problem here, I am going back 3.0.4,
I just killed all of my menues and redid them ……. arghhhhh

    regards

    Joe

I’m searching but can’t find specific instructions on how to downgrade WP 3.0.5 to 3.0.4. Can anyone help me please?

    Thank you.
    Steve

For anyone experiencing issues with menus, please disable all plugins and switch to the Twenty Ten theme and test again. If it starts working it is either a theme or plugin issue. Switch back to your original theme and test again. If it still works then it is a plugin issue. Reactivate each plugin 1 at a time, testing after each, until you can determine what plugin is causing the issue.

@matt – Any Idea why Plugins and Themes break with 3.0.5 while they worked with 3.0.4? The changes were not that invasive, weren’t they?

@nacin: Just wanted to link it while reading WPDEVEL.

Geez – just upgraded a HUGE site and now I can’t schedule posts, quick edit, click on screen options, click on help and I don’t know what else in the dashboard! I’m afraid to see what it has done to the site. This is AWFUL – why won’t WP fix this before 3.1???

Weren’t we told this was “a security hardening update for all previous WordPress versions. This security release is required if you have any untrusted user accounts, but it also comes with important security enhancements and hardening. All WordPress users are strongly encouraged to update.”

I’m not sure if this is the same problem, but comments have stopped working entirely on a blog I’ve just upgraded to 3.0.5. When I click on ‘2 comments’ (or whatever) at the bottom of the post I expect to go to a list of the comments and a box to add my own. It just takes me to the post on it’s own with nowhere to write a comment.
    Any ideas?!

I’ve just upgraded to 3.0.5, and in IE8 only the header images on the blog dont display correctly. If i resize the images to be double their original size that worked in the previous version of wordpress, they dont display correctly in Firefox.
I am using the ProPhoto theme, any ideas on how to correct this??

I’m unable to add a picture to a post with NextGen; after adding the selected picture, the dialog box disappears and only inserts some formatting html – no pic. It had worked with 3.0.5, but then got really buggy and, apparently, no longer works.

Patiently waiting for the next update…

I wish I would have read about these problems before upgrading yesterday to WordPress 3.0.5. No I cannot upload an image. Not sure if there might be other problems I have not yet encountered. I too would like to know how to downgrade back to 3.0.4.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi, rainbowlaw

I don’t think it is an 3.0.5. issue.
Today I have tried posting (uploading) some images on my blog, while still having 3.0.4.
and it didn’t work (it kind of worked, but the image wasn’t really uploaded, those who are having the same problem will recognize it). Before today everything worked just fine (I published my latest post about a week ago). I am an Ubuntu user, and have tried both Firefox and Chromium browsers, I don’t know if that is important.
So, I tried to fix the problem by upgrading to 3.0.5., switching some plugins on and of and it still doesn’t work.
Now I just don’t know what to do.

Well… You are saying it wont touch images in posts, but it did. Cause all I did with my blog that day was upgrading, I did not touch any css and I did not innstall any new plugins.. so It has to be the upgrading.

Ahhh.. I have a pretty active blog with lots of comments – lots of comments include images as it’s a photography blog. Both <P> and
‘s has been trashed even if you edit a comment, then you can see the comment as written.. and no images can bee seen, only the link and the tag [img]…

I tried ALL ways described above – I even deactivated Akismet and “updated” wp-super-cash” just in case. Nothing works. Using K2.
