• Just upgraded to WP 3.0.5. …. and now I cannot insert img tags in comments. They just eaten up by the WP – source code in the published comment is empty.

I tried different themes – same result.

Also I tried to insert images using filter add_filter(“comment_text”,…) (I develop plugin which renders LaTeX equations into images) – same result.

Under admin or logged out – same result.

Also, I cannot see img tags in comments when I browse them through admin (“Comments” menu) and in front-end pages/posts.

And one more – pre tags in comments also are being eaten up by WP 3.0.5 – nothing get through sanitization/security enhancement???

I have strong feeling this is related to new feature of WP 3.0.5:
“Enhancement: Force HTML filtering on comment text in the admin”

Any idea what is going on?

  • I upgrated my wordpress site which is https://www.kuaforum.net but I have problem with my theme .
My home page thumbnails dissaper. How can I fix it ?

And yet one more 3.0.5 image bug:

Since the upgrade (A database update also took place, which I now suspect was the problem) I haven’t been able to insert images into posts.

During the upload, the Title field is marked by a red asterisk. The title can be edited but the asterisk never goes away.

When you click Insert into Post, the screen goes white and can’t be refreshed. When you reopen the post, no image information has been inserted.

I’ve tried several different themes and disabling all plug ins. No change.

    HELP! (Please)

I eventually found a solution – I switched my CMS to Joomla 1.5 and now my WP issue has disappeared like magic!

@rainbowlaw: That was not helpful at all, and incredibly meaningless.

As for everyone else. If you are experiencing a problem with menus or widgets please read https://wpdevel.wordpress.com/2011/02/10/if-your-menus-or-widgets-screens-broke/

Otherwise, please create a new topic to discuss your individual issue. Trying to manage multiple support issues on a single forum topic is too difficult. Before you post that 3.0.5 broke your site please try to follow what I mentioned before:

…please disable all plugins and switch to the Twenty Ten theme and test again. If it starts working it is either a theme or plugin issue. Switch back to your original theme and test again. If it still works then it is a plugin issue. Reactivate each plugin 1 at a time, testing after each, until you can determine what plugin is causing the issue.

This will help us narrow down the issue so that we are not randomly guessing at the cause.
