Is anyone else having problems with uploading images after the WP 3.6 upgrade? The upgrade processed flawlessly and everything is working fine for me, except when I am trying to upload any kind of image to my media section.

Is anyone else having this problem? What can I do to resolve this?

How do you downgrade? I’d be happy to do that as I can’t not have this functionality. It’s ridiculous they issue an update with an endless list of flaws! Its seriously bad!

I want to go back to the previous version but not sure how to.

I hope you backup all your wordpress file before you go to wordpress 3.6. folow this easy tutorial https://etuts.org/manually-downgrade-wordpress/

There is nothing wrong with WordPress 3.6. The problem is specific to your installation. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

I have already attempted deactivating my plugins – it’s not the problem!

I don’t understand re-uploading files and folders. Where do I do this and from where?

Looking at the complaints coming in left, right and center on this forum WP 3.6 is sadly a complete disaster!

I have already attempted deactivating my plugins – it’s not the problem!

And the other steps? FWIW, I’ve updated about a dozen sites so far and not had a single problem on any of them. This is specific to your site.

It makes no sense to me as I’m not as technically skilled as you. I am not using a WP theme as its a completely custom made theme. I don’t have any inactive plugins (I only keep the ones that are active – the rest gets deleted.)

What files and folders do I upload from first of all, where and then where do I upload these files and folders to?

I found the problem. @esmi you’re right, my problem was the plugin FV WordPress Flowplayer. thank you.

You still need to switch to the default theme.

    Thank you for your help!

I also had the same issue with the image upload button not working. The conflict I found was with Wordfence Security.

I manage well over 100 sites so I am really hoping there are not multiple plugins that have conflicts with the uploader in 3.6.
