WP 3.8 Cant select role [select role and change its capabilities:]

  • I cant select a other role then subscriber from the dropdown “select role and change its capabilities:”

    When i select a other role the page refreshes and selects subscriber again. The plugin works fine another WordPress installation of mine on 3.7.1

    Im running chrome Version 31.0.1650.63 and 4.8 of the plugin, if it helps.

    Tested agian nothing works on wordpress 3.8 with pressing a button it refreshes the page and returns to is current state.

    It works like a charm in my case. Using the same versions of wp, plugin and chrome.

    It sounds like a chrome issue to me. Maybe some of browser’s add-ons?

    I also tested it on safari same issuu

    So maybe it’s incompatible with sth in your website – a plugin, a theme or a library? Try to change your theme to Twenty Whatever and check the plugin again. If it fails try to switch off other plugins and check again.

    Maybe it’s a known bug I’m not aware of. I use it for a short time. If you’ll still have problems – I’m sure Vladimir will figure it out.

    Can maybe multisite be the issue ? on wp 3.7.1 multisite it works fine as i said

    No, It is definitely not the multisite issue. It seems that it is the issue of that installation. Check what is different between 2 installations (3.7.1 and 3.8), except of WordPress version?

    When you change role in the dropdown list, plugin tries to send POST request to the server (submit form). It seems that it can not do it in your case.

    I was receiving thousands of anonymous users daily after updating to the WordPress 3.8 “Parker”. Others were blogging about it as well. Then the update to WP-e-commmerce took all those”anonymous users” off the user list under users, but now they remain under user permissions list.
    Any Ideas how to get rid of them?

    Do you mean spam user registrations?
    Use some antispam plugins, like “Captcha” https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/captcha/
    It reduces such spam user registrations at my sites to 1-2 an hour.
