Wp 3.8.1 Update Failing

Two things –

1) Check to make sure you (and WordPress) have the right permissions on the server (particularly read/write). The error message is saying that WordPress can’t write certain temp files to a certain locations during the update process.

2) Also check with your hosting – they operate the servers and they may need to do something on their end to allow the updates to work.

WP 3.8.1 has issues….

Found problem, it deleted htaccessfile

I checked to see about the permissions. InMotion has a one-click install of WordPress and have assured me that all permissions are in order.

Figured it out finally. InMotion requires you to use their updater. Updating through WP itself doesn’t work.
