Just jumped on my site after an auto update last night to 4.8 from 4.75 and found that I couldn’t access anything.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION
    public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-admin-ui/inc/functions/options-front.php on line 83

Roled back my site to 4.75 and it works ok now

  • I just updated my site to 4.8 and this is the message I see on a white screen when I click ‘Edit Page’

    Hi all!
We are currently testing WP Admin UI with the WP 4.8.
We’ll pushed an update ASAP to ensure compatibility.
    Thank you

@pshay92 Found the bug, it’s not related to WP 4.8. Just missing some if function_exists ??

@nightmarenewsnet : I checked with WP 4.8 and XML RPC disabled from WP Admin UI settings. Everything is working fine. Can you give me the list of your plugins? What’s your settings in WP Admin UI > Global > Front tab?
    Thanks

Ok i checked a clonesite i have and disabled each plugin i had and then upgraded to 4.8. After that I enabled this plugin first and each one in turn with it. it seemed that something with jetpack was causing a conflict but i can not be sure because i could not log in to jetpack though my clone site and it didn’t have the same error as before.

    brake down:
4.75 all of my plugins including WP Admin UI and Jetpack worked fine.
4.8 with all of my plugins including WP Admin UI AND jetpack seemd to crash.
4.8 with all of my plugins including WP Admin UI except jetpack seemed to work
4.8 with all of my plugins including jetpack except WP Admin UI seemed to work

Seems the combo of 4.8, Jetpack, and WP Admin may have been the cause.

BIG HOWEVER though….. now that WP Admin UI has been updated I backed up my entire site and updated everything to the newest versions.

    Everything is once again working.
I’m running 4.8, all of my plugins including jetpack AND WP Admin, and seem to have no issues now!

Not sure what was changed, but THANK YOU! it’s all great again!
