    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I’m not really sure what you mean here.
Could you explain where exactly this is happening? Which “link” button are you refering to? And what is happening compared to what you are expecting?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The link button is in the editor for posts. Usually one highlights some text then clicks the link button then a window opens to enter the URL for the link. Unless TablePress is deactivated this functionality does not work for me since I upgraded to WP 4.0. The button exists but nothing happens when it is clicked. This is not just on pages or posts where a TablePress shortcode is inserted but all pages and posts.

    Thanks

    Hi,

thanks for the explanation! I see what you mean, but have no clue what could be causing this, and I can not reproduce this on my test sites.
Are there other plugins active that influence the editor toolbar?

Can you maybe try again with only TablePress activated and all other plugins deactivated?

The plot thickens. This has something to do with the browser! I did try to deactivate all my plugins and only use TablePress. The link button function would not work when TablePress was active. I usually work in Chrome. I kept TablePress active and tried Firefox and voila, the link button worked. This problem showed up when I installed WP 4.0 so there is something strange with the combination of the new version of WP, Chrome and TablePress. Any ideas?

    Hi,

ok, that sounds really strange. I’m using Chrome myself and can’t reproduce this on my sites. Are you maybe using any browser extensions that could be interfering here? Can you maybe try on a different computer?

If that also does not help, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site, if possible. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

I discovered that when the link button does not work then all I have to do is refresh the page then it will work. This is a work around that is not too much of a problem. However, since TablePress does have an icon on the editor toolbar perhaps there is some slight interaction with WP 4.0. Hope this helps.

    Hi,

thanks for further investigating this! When a refresh is necessary, this could indicate that something is not working properly related to browser caching, but I’m not sure.
I just tested again on several WP 4.0 installs, but could not reproduce this. Also, from what I know, nothing really changing in the button handling code in WP 4.0, so I’m not sure where to look for issues here.

    Regards,
    Tobias
