• After updating to WordPress 5.1, when I Add/Edit a page/post, the screen is white (blank).
    I had tried without success:
    1. Disabling other plugins and themes (and using Twenty Nineteen)
    2. Clearing the Browser cache
    3. Trying a different Browsers and Computers (including mobile)
    4. Visual Editor is enabled.
    5. All plugins and themes are up to date
    6. Reinstalled 5.1
    7. Installed Classic Editor (the page comes back but the Visual Pane font is white and is displaying the Text Pane content)
    8. I’ve also installed Health Check Troubleshooting.

Any help resolving the issue would be much appreciated. Also if it could be broken down to laymen’s terms. Thank you.

  • I am getting the same thing. The only way for me to edit or create Posts or Pages is to disable visual editor under Users-Your Profile. On another site I maintain and upgraded to WordPress 5.1 everything works fine.

“The only way for me to edit or create Posts or Pages is to disable visual editor under Users-Your Profile. ” At least this gives me a work around. Might have something to do with the version of PHP or MYSQL that our host is using. I sent a ticket requesting them to update to the suggested versions.

Have the same problem but haven’t found the fix yet. Tried disabling visual editor under users but that doesn’t resolve it for me.

Turned on php display errors and found a plugin that was causing the error. disabled that and bingo it works.

    Current PHP version: 5.6
    display_errors On

    error:
Fatal error: Class ‘WPSEO_Local_Endpoint_Locations’ not found in /home/testsite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpseo-local/local-seo.php on line 151

I tried the disable all plugins and change theme to standard theme and still did not work. I installed the WP Downgrade plugin and downgraded back to 5.0.3 and installed a Disable Automatic Updates plugin to prevent it automatically updating back to 5.1.

Weird thing is some say could be PHP version. The site having he issue has a newer version of PHP than the other site not having an issue.

    Hi Stever22,

I’ve the same problem, and I went back to 5.0.3 too…
If I have any notice from the tickets I’ve just opened on Generatepress forum and my host provider site, I’ll write it back here just for the other users info.

Regards, and thank you for the quick solution.

Having this exact issue on 5.2.2 – did anyone find a solution? Any help appriciated!
