WP 5 support?
-
Hi! What’s the ETA of version that works with WP 5.x?
-
Hi,
Yes please, @bestwebsoft could you inform us about compatibility with wp 5.x?
Using wp5.0.2, there are issues both in frontend and backend:
1. Backend: I switched the wp core install language from non-english to english correctly, but everytime when I login to backend it redirects to admin URL with the old language slug (which was the default), getting 404 message.
2. Frontend:
2.1 The same issue as on backend. When I enter the site it redirects to the old
default language, and not english, showing up the language slug (for default
language I have disabled the slug in URL).
2.2 Many frontend extensions interfaces does not switch to correct languages,
staying in english…Please could you give some active support about these isssues?
A question: In pro version is there any option (first visits) for automatic language switching according to the user’s language browser (not only IP)?
Thank you in advance, and happy new year!
Best regards
Adding to my initial question regarding WP 5.x compatibility.
I’m running WP 5.0.2 and in the backend I cant’t edit languages in pages and posts because the language tabs odes not appear in the new editor.
I did however find a temp fix for this: the Tiny MCE Advanced plugin has an option for the classic editor. If you don’t want the extra Tiny MCE Advanced options you could also restore the classic editor with the Classic Editor plugin ( https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/)
Hi,
Thank you for contacting us!
Hi! What’s the ETA of version that works with WP 5.x?
The functionality you are talking about was scheduled and now we are studying the possibility to make Multilanguage plugin by BestWebSoft compatible with WordPress 5.x.x and Gutenberg. We will notify you when the Multilanguage plugin will be compatible with Gutenberg. If your case is extra urgent, you can always submit a private request here – https://support.bestwebsoft.com/hc/en-us/requests/new, so that we could to try to help you faster.

As you said – temporary fix is activation of Classic Editor plugin ( https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/), until we make Multilanguage compatible with Gutenberg.
Hi @bestwebsoft
Why not answering to my questions?
Another issue with the extension is the integration with Visual Composer extension. When editing a non-default language, the frontend style in that language appears missconfigured, loosing the original styles, specially the margins and paddings.
Anyway…
The extension has a good potential, but I am sorry to say this, your support is verry POOR and BAD, making losing time to users. All the times I contacted you here or by your site, the answers does not correspond to my professional expectations and you dont proactif regarding users demands. I used your extension for a project for a year, but it is incomplete! also you should put in development tab the changelog, not just some generic prhases.

We already know about it and now we are studying a possibility to solve this problem.
This issue caused by Gutenberg editor (new WordPress editor), using Classic Editor (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/) you still can to translate posts/pages.
Please follow the next instructions in order to install Classic Editor (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/):
1) Go to WordPress admin dashboard;
2) Open Plugins->Add New tab;
3) Then you will see “Classic Editor”, install and activate it, if not – search for Classic Editor plugin (https://prnt.sc/ltggj8);
4) After you activate the Classic Editor plugin, try to translate article;
Let us know about the result.Another issue with the extension is the integration with Visual Composer extension. When editing a non-default language, the frontend style in that language appears missconfigured, loosing the original styles, specially the margins and paddings.
Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce this problem on our local environment. Please create a private ticket on our support desk (https://support.bestwebsoft.com/hc/en-us/requests/new). Include a link to this post, so that we could recall the case immediately.
1. I do have classic editor installed, but the problem remains the same.
2. I am sure about this visual composer issue, I tested it with 3 different themes and installs and it is the same. On frontend the style appearance does not save correctly for non-default languages, and it consumes a lot of effort to fix it (it does not copye the same default language style).
For the moment I deactivated your extension because it is a headach in terms of compatibility with other general extensions, and your updates are taking months. If your support was good, currently I would be using you pro version, but for now not, active support is key, which is not your case. Maybe I will consider it for another moment.
