Wp-admin and website are completely blank.

  • Good afternoon,

    I was working on this website: https://rec.wordpress.uconn.edu. I edited the Office theme from here [link] and uploaded it as a new theme. However, when I installed the theme, wp-admin and the website immediately turned blank. I don’t have any access to the FTP server as it is my university’s website.

    Is there any way to rectify this problem, please? I’d really appreciate it as this is quite urgent.

    Well, if you do not have access to your admin panel, the next options to set right the site are through your hosting control panel or FTP. If you do not have access to these, you have to contact the person (in your university) to help you out with access or to sort out the issue.

    The solution is to rename the current theme by adding something like -old so that the site will open using the default WordPress theme. You can login to your dashboard after that.
