• I upgraded today to 4.1 and now I can’t load the Dashboard. The left side menu still works but when I try to open dashboard either a white page appears reading “This page can’t be displayed.” OR – it opens but then my Avast repeatedly detects some sort of malware called JS:ScriptIP-inf[Trj] (supposedly “moved to the chest”) I’ve tried deactivating all of my plugins, but that didn’t do it. Help?

    macfo, great discovery, thank you!

To summarize, the problem is Avast firing a false positive trojan intervention, causing the WP back end to malfunction on the protected computer. Thus the problem is really Avast, there is nothing wrong with WP or GA plugin. If I’ve misinterpreted anything here please chime in.

A possible work around would be to use a different computer to access your site’s back end, or temporarily disable Avast for such access. I don’t know if Avast allows this, but it may be possible to whitelist your WP site in Avast.

I’m afraid the real solution lies with Avast modifying their signature scan, which may take some time if they decide such modification is even warranted.

@jveegh or anyone else having this issue, can you try this?

    1. Update Avast
    2. Disable Avast (if you can access the update screen there is no need to disable avast at all)
    3. Update the plugin to version 4.4
    4. Enable Avast

I installed the new version of the plugin … and now works!

    That’s just great!
