If i change the permission of the php files to read only, it complains that permission denied.
But if i set the permission correctly, i get this error:

“Sorry, we’re not sure what you’re looking for here”

NOTE: i have not been touching anything related to the wordpress code.

    Have you tried:

-clearing cache / cookies in your browser? to clear cache in your browser, press clrl+f5 keys simultaneously.

-deactivating all plugins. If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit?

If you don’t have access to to your admin area, try deactivating them manually via FTP or phpMyAdmin.

-if that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme (Twenty Ten) by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes to rule out any theme-specific issue?

If you don’t have access to your admin area, then access your server via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

I will give this a shot.
But the website itself works fine with all the widgets and themes.
I simply cannot log in for some reason.
I haven’t installed/upgraded any theme/plugin/wordpress etc that caused this change in behavior.

No such luck here. I disabled all the plugins as well as changed the theme to default. I still see this issue. ??
