Just updated to 3.8 and can’t navigate to any links in my dashboard panel – receive a 404 error. I looked on my FTP and saw that the wp-admin folder is missing. I backed up all files before I upgraded – would it be as simple as copying the wp-admin folder onto the FTP? My site is still working – its just the back end that isn’t.
    thanks.

  • Would need the new wp-admin folder, rather than the one you have backed up.
And yes, unless you had customized any admin files it should be as simple as copy and pasting the wp-admin folder.

Head to the top right (above this topic) “Download WordPress” and download 3.8. It’s the blue button in the top right of this window.

Then open the zip, and then drag ONLY the wp-admin folder into your site via ftp.
