wp-admin/includes/ajax-actions.php went missing – why?

  • Several functions failed recently and after much digging around I discovered that the file wp-admin/includes/ajax-actions.php was missing. Replacing that file resolved the issue.

    Any idea why/how that could happen? I never make any changes to core WP files.

  • Now and then some files may end up missing or corrupted when WordPress is updated. Or you happened to remove it via some “security” thing…

    A quick follow up — it appears this file was deleted from all of my accounts on my host. I’m discussing this with them. If for some reason this might have been a WordPress issue (I’m not thinking it is), I’d love to know just so I can be aware of it.
