wp-admin login on sub-domain redirects to master domain

    I have a WordPress install hosted with MediaTemple on their VPS for a client site. I now am doing some major redesigns on the site so made a staging site and duplicated all the files over to test.mydomain.com (from my.domain.com) and also copied the MySQL database, changed it’s name and default user and successfully independently linked the staging site to the new DB.

    The problem is when I try to login via the staging site at:
    test.mydomain.com/wp-admin

    it redirects me to:
    mydomain.com/wp-admin

    This leaves me only able to modify the current site instead of the staging one.

    Can anyone please help?
