wp-admin login unavailable simply taking me to homepage

  • Hi,

    I’m trying to login to my website to make some changes but wp-admin is simply getting ignored and taking me just to my homepage. I’ve tried different browsers, clearing history/passwords etc and even different PC’s all to no avail. Even my phone is the same.

    Has anyone seen this before ? – How can i fix this ?

    I did get the screen 1st thing this morning but was unable to login so i wonder if some security has kicked in ?

    Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
