• I have something strange going on.

    I cannot
    * Activate/Deactivate Plugins
    * Move/Activate/Deactivate Widgets
    * Change Widget settings

    When I attempt to do any of these, it says it was successful, but if I refresh the page, it didn’t work.

    For example, I click activate on a plugin, it says it successfully activated the plugin, but it’s still deactivated, and the “Activate” link is still available to click for that plugin.

    This started happening a few days ago.

  • Is your wordpress up-to-date?
    Are you sure there isn’t something you have to follow through with?

    Yes, I just updated to 2.8.4 last night, through the automatic upgrade.

    What do you mean follow through with? When making changes? Or on the upgrade?

    The more I think about it, I think you might have some permission issues. It might not necessarily have to do with you being an admin. There might be server issues or even issues with wordpress.

    So you’re not getting any error msgs or anything when you try to change something it just doesn’t change?

    If I attempt to activate a plugin it says

    Plugin activated.

    But the plugin is still listed as “inactive”, and the functionality is not added.

    If I attempt to add a widget to the sidebar, it looks liked it was added and opens the config panel for that widget. When I hit “Save” it seems like all has been saved as the spinning indicator disappears.
    If I refresh the widgets page, though, it is not active.

    I thought about reinstalling to see if that did the trick.

    Well try it and see what happens, there might be an bigger issue that you can’t see. Let me know if it’s still doing it.
