• I was working on my website Wednesday, and ever since when i try and launch WP Admin, I get an error that the website is “experiencing technical difficulties”. I’ve reached out to my host, and it’s not an issue on their end. I can sometimes get to my website, and sometimes not, but either way I can’t even launch WP admin to do anything. What do I do?

  • What you are seeing is the new (to version 5.2) Recovery Mode. When there is a fatal error, it should send the site admin an email with a recovery link so that they can log in. In previous versions, it would just be a white screen.
Typically, the problem is an error in a plugin or theme. If you don’t have the email, you can rename the plugins folder or the theme folder and you will be able to log in.
But it’s possible that the error is in WordPress, where it ran out of memory or execution time, in which case there is a low limit or something is calling itself, causing an infinite loop.
Trying the rename of the folders is a good first step, although you might look around for an error_log to see what exactly is the problem.

I never got a link, and i can’t get to anything. I’m hosted through GoDaddy, and there are no issues on their end. i can’t make any changes to rename anything because I can’t get to any of my admin stuff. That’s the problem.

You can use FTP or your host control panel File Manager to rename the folders.

I had a similar issue with mine after a month of use… it turned out because of security restrictions my host was employing that my log in was always changing so it kept me out until they gave me another link to use for admin and all was fine.

Are you using wifi with a random IP generation with it or a cellular connection?

Although I got that fixed I still can not FTP in because of my connection but when I go elsewhere I can. It could be on your end or the host security.
