When Nextgen Gallery plugin is enabled, any link in wp-admin redirects to the site homepage. I have completely removed and reinstalled the plugin, but the same problem persists. As soon as I disable the plugin, the site works fine.

Any idea how to fix this? I surely don’t want to have to rebuild all my galleries with a different plugin.

  • Hi @kdal

First, please make sure that it’s just NextGen Gallery and not a combination of other plugins or your theme.
    Let’s test carefully for conflicts:

1.- Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery.
2.- Is the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check one by one and find the one causing the problem.
3.- If the problem is not solved with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme, it could be a conflict with your current theme.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Hi Plugin Support.

I am also having this issue. The plugin is adding a trailing slash to all wp-admin pages. (Ex. /wp-admin/plugins.php is showing as //wp-admin/plugins.php) and when it redirects it goes to the homepage for us as well. We have done all the above testing and even tested with a default theme. This does not seem like it’s a problem with other plugins since more than one user is having the problem…

Please support this crucial plugin to our site.

Yep, that is the exact behavior that I am experiencing. I haven’t yet been able to take my site down, but I imagine it will likely be the same as you.

Yes I can confirm as well.. It has a redirect bug. Disabled all other plug-ins and isolated it to the NexGen plug-in. It has always worked perfect, in the latest update something must be a-miss.

I’m running the latest WordPress version and no other plug-ins out of date etc.

I tried rolling back a few versions – and version 3.0.0 seems to be working fine if you want a stable version to roll back to. I tried versions: 3.1.11 – 3.1.2 – but they were still redirecting as well – 3.0.0 is good though.

    Hi @kdal,

We’d like to take a closer look at the issue. We may need to temporarily deactivate plugins and switch the theme while troubleshooting. Would you feel OK with that? If so, please send us a bug report here: https://www.imagely.com/report-bug , refer back to this forum thread, and let them know Mihai referred you. ??
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, I cannot take the site down right now. I see others have had the same problem. Has it been fixed for any others?

    Hi @kdal,

We haven’t received the site’s details from any users that are encountering the same case and also couldn’t replicate the problem for any of our testing site so its obviously that something custom goes on with these installations. Have you had any chance to test for a plugin and theme conflict yet?

    Please let us know

Ok, I just set up a dev site that is an exact copy of the original and it does have the same problem. I can give you login creds for that. How do I send them to you securely?

    Hi @kdal

Sure, you can provide access to that dev site by reporting this as a bug using this form: https://www.imagely.com/report-bug

Please, refer back to this forum thread, and let them know Gaby referred you.
Note: Do not forget to include this forum link in your report.

    Hi There,

I am experiencing the exact same issue. Is there an update on this thread or could you please send a link to further discussion/solution?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello @gingerdaveski

Could you please try to disabling and then enabling the NextGen Gallery plugin?
    That work in previous scenarios.

    Please, keep us posted.

Yes. I have tried that. Problem solved when disabling NextGen Gallery. Reappears when enabling again, even with a fresh copy.

I have a similar problem, has anyone found a solution ??

    Same problem here.

Deactivating NextGen solves the issue but obviously all galleries are gone.
