wp-admin redirects to homepage

  • I have a clean WordPress install with no plugins and no themes.

    Whenever I try to access mysite.com/wp-admin, I only see the homepage. However, if I manually add /wp-admin/index.php, it works fine and I can navigate through the admin panel.

    I have checked .htaccess, permissions and wp-config.php and I do not see anything wrong. I have also checked the site url and it appears correct.

    Any help or suggestion is appreciated.
