• Hi there,

I’ve just moved my wordpress site from his local developer location to the live server. Everything went fine at first but when I was adjusting some media files the site logged me out. Since than I can’t login anymore. When I go to url/wp-admin, I get redirected to the old url.

This is how I moved the site:
    – export database
    – change urls in database
    – upload content files, themes, uploads
    – change wp-config
    – import database

After this everything worked perfectly fine.

Does anyone knows how I can get this back to work?
    thanx,
    Jonas

  • The step you didn’t mention is hitting the Save button in Settings-Permalinks, which could well be your problem.

Obviously, you can’t do that now if you can’t login. I would suggest you rename .htaccess (you might want to reference it later on) as that should remove Permalinks. Then you should be able to login to the Admin panels and save Permalinks, re-creating .htaccess in the process.

I’m assuming that you are NOT using a Windows Server as Windows does not use .htaccess
