Thank you govpatel. At one time earlier also I uploaded at the root and I was able to install. It was working fine. There after I changed theme and uploaded few plugin, then only it did not work. I have the permissions to create data base too in the control panel and I have tried that too. There after I deleted the database name and created with another name and then again downloaded, unzipped, re-configured config, uploaded and tried /wp-admin/install.php, it did not work.

There after I have deleted all and then uploaded entire again in the directory, but still it did not work. No message comes when the install command is executed.

    Please help me.

Okay, I am having similar issues. I am trying to create a config.php and upload it to Freespeech. but when I put in my information it says it will not recognize and it has issues contacting the server. And I have no idea where to find or change the permissions. I uploaded using Filezilla and now I am totally lost. any step by step? I have read just about every documentation and nothing seems to work.

Have you checked with your host see if everything fine their end and is this on window server or linux

I had earlier checked with the hosting and they said it is a window server and you can upload wordpress on it. Secondly, Once I have been successful and I was able to load pages, categories & posts on the same server, same cpanel, everything same. Problem came only after adding plug-in. It is very starange ? So I need assistance

If it is window server you will not have cpanel as cpanel is linux

deactivate plugins and see if you still have problem

    having issues myself.

everything seems to be set up properly to install, BUT when I run the install script (levihemphill. com/blog/wp-admin/install.php) it just loads my site and stops at that.

    any thoughts?

@levihemphill do you have all you wordpress files and folders in blog folder and if so what do you have in root.

yeah, wordpress is in a folder named “blog” in my root.

other things in my root are mail dir, website dir, and logs

looks like something in your root that may be redirecting to the page in root when you try to install.

    Most probably is .htaccess file

if I put the blog folder into my site directory, the installer won’t connect to my server

blog directory should be in root and then all wordpress files and folders in blog folder
