wp-admin/post-new.php publish and save button are not active links!

  • Any help with this issue would be a great help, I’m lost

    I made some modifications to my wordpress blog with the help of a forum member (thanks for your help), but now I can’t make any posts

    It’s very odd, in the wp-admin/post-new.php window I write a post and attempt to publish it but when i click the “publish” button nothing happens. It’s essentially a rollover button with no link!? there is no active link in the publish button. I’m not sure how to trouble shoot this problem. Thanks for reading any help or a point in the right direction would be great. Thanks guys!

  • Try clearing your browser cache, quiting your browser and then relaunching it. If this doesn’t work, try also restarting your computer. This happened to me the other day for some reason, and these steps fixed it.

    If this doesn’t fix it, then maybe the modifications were bad. Were you modifying core WordPress files or just your theme files?

    I was really hoping that would fix the problem, but it didn’t. I also tried adding posts from other computers and with other user all resulted in the same problem.

    I only modified the theme files. I uploaded my blog onto the web at belovedco.com/blog/.
    Very unfinished but maybe this could help you think of what mite be wrong.

    Disable all plugins and switch to the default theme and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then it is theme and/or plugin-related.

    Thanks again for your response, I appreciate your help.

    I have all my plugins inactive. The default and classic themes both still work fine.

    But with either the classic or default themes active and plugins inactive I still have the same problem.

    I’ve tried replacing some relevant files with new wordpress files, and I still have the same problem.

    I’m really confused on even where to begin to trouble shoot this issue.
