wp as a news source

  • I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to use WP as a news tool. What I am looking for is to have writters post in wP as a draft and have one user be able to edit and publish the articles as they come.
    I want ther articles to still be credited and created by the original user. I also at the same time want it so the one who is editing is not the admin but be able to edit even the admins posts..
    maybe is there a way to make two or three users level 10?

  • The first thing that you want to do is very doable. Just ask your authors to save their posts as private, and then you can make them public, I guess.
    You can make more than one user level 10, but you might have to access the database using phpMyAdmin.

    any suggestion on what table i need to edit? to make the extra level 10’s?

    why temper with tables to get userlever 10?
    userlevel 9 should be good enough…
    keep the level 10 for admin reasons and rest of the time use 9… should work equally fine for u!

    the blog is already in good use with my level 10 making several posts but I needed to give the editor the ability to edit my posts as well so just gave them level 10 as well.
    its not recommended but it saves me a ton of work and the editor is very responsible.
    now just gotta find a way that the system can e-mail you when a new post is just posted or saved.

    Wait till someone writes a “notify of new posts by email” plugin, or write one and share it ??
