WP asks me to upgrade then dies

    Was happily using WP earlier today when I get this message

    ‘Your database is out-of-date. Please upgrade’

    I click ‘upgrade’ and it takes me to wp-admin/upgrade.php
    Here I click ‘Upgrade WordPress >>’ which takes me to
    wp-admin/upgrade.php?step=1&backto=https://myurl/wp/wp-admin/post.php
    This page says ‘Step 1. There’s actually only one step. So if you see this, you’re done. Have fun!’
    I click on ‘Have fun’ and I’m returned to the post window.

    Since then my wp site has died…. The posts show up with no style attached… Pages are missing with Error 404 – Not Found.

    Does anybody know what happened?

    The main posts have come back up, but the site pages were still giving an error 404.

    I was able to log into the admin area, open the site pages and resave them, which has brought them back.

    Good to see them back, but wish I knew why they disappeared.

    This is probably related to my servers hard disk filling up over the weekend… All appears to be working again now. Although the site pages needed to be republished before they re-appeared.

    Have closed this as resolved. It might be usefull for others..
