WP Auto Update Prevented Display of Admin Panel

Yes, using the login you described. Using the form “domain/WP-ADMIN” does not accomplish anything.

When the screen returns from the username/login sequence it returns this page instead of the normal Admin Panel. It seems to be looking for a “POST”.

Having same problem on 2 sites.
https://www.domain.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F displays and returns a 404 error.

The sites are still up and working but can’t access the wp-admin area.

How do I revert to 3.5.1 please?

OK but seems a waste of your time as it is the same error!

I have looked at the file structure in c-Panel and found that the wp-admin folder and all its sub-folders are completely empty.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can manually reinstall WP – download a new copy of WP to your local computer – then delete all files/folders EXCEPT wp-content. Then replace those files/folder, EXCEPT for the wp-content.

I simply uploaded the 3 files related to “upgrade” to the wp-admin folder and the login process continued the update by updating the database. The admin panel then opened as normal.
