WP Bakery Visual Composer is not working w/ WP 5.0

I also had the same problem and just by installing and activating the plugin “Classic Editor” it worked again quickly.

None of these solutions are working for me.
I’ve tried the default 2019 theme, so I know it’s not a theme conflict.

I’ve tried Disable Gutenberg and Classic Editor plugins and still when updating pages I’m redirected to the 404 page.

I’m using WP Bakery Page Builder 5.7

Hi guys. I don’t know where exactly I should write about it. After wordpress introduced their 5.0.0 update with their block editor, I couldn’t use WP bakery page builder. My website designer downgraded the software to 4.9.9 so I could use it. He claimed that I needed to get a new WBP Bakery licence in order to update the plugin so I could use VC on my pages. Yesterday, I updated WordPress to 5.1.1, bought new WBP Bakery and updated the plugin to 5.7. However, this didn’t solve the situation. I did research and the solutions which seem to be working for other people don’t work (‘Classic Editor’ installed, Gutenberg disabled, advised WBP Bakery setting picked). All I get is empty page that you can’t edit. When I am trying to turn the frontend editing – it doesn’t load. Do you have any more ideas how to solve it? Thank you!

I have a website cochf.coop which used visual composer to build its pages. Just after the most recent wp update I started having connection issues every time I edited a page using visual composer. I get this error message – Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case. The site is now extremely slow even though we have upgraded the hosting plan at GoDaddy.

Hello,

After bypassing the firewall, I was able to replicate the slowness issues and timing out issues that you have described. Since this is a member area, the firewall will not cache any pages when editing with visual composer so it is pulling content down directly from the host.
You can also perform the same test by placing the following in your hosts file:

In talking to them they seem to feel the problem is with the plugin and asked to to contact the developer. I can’t get support as I use the free version of the plugin which comes with most premium themes so I am asking here. I have over 40 websites I have built with visual composer and hosted with GoDaddy. I am trying to determine if this really is a visual composer problem or some other problem tied to GoDaddy.

Right now its impossible for me to edit my pages on cochf.coop because the moment I start clicking to edit an element with visual composer I keep getting loss of connection, then it comes back, then it goes again and the entire site is extremely slow.

@przemoob I am in exactly the same problem as you. I have updated to the latest version of WordPress and installed the latest version of the WpBakery Builder Page component and I am still getting the blank screen in the edition. However, in some pages if it works, I suspected it could be from some template plugin and deactivated them all but still nothing. I have modified server memory, activating the classic editor plugin, I tried with previous versions of the component and I still get the same problem you mention: “BuildFromContent error ReferenceError: Mochito (Theme name) is not defined (frontend-editor.min.js). I just have to think that it is some Incompatibility problem with the jquery version. Let’s see if someone gives us a solution because the main page of my website (Home) does not let me edit it and that is where I have all the information as it uses OnePage template.

I have WP 5.3 and the WPBakery frontend editor for one of my pages is not loading. It doesn’t fully load and leaves me on the loading screen. For example: https://ibb.co/VC76mXf

The only solution is to downgrade wordpress version to atleast 5.2.5, you can do so quickly with plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-downgrade/
