    Hello All,
After a new user is created and they are logged in, a WordPress black bar shows up at the top of the page where it shows the ‘W’ for WordPress, the symbol for the Dashboard and over to the right the username where they can log out. And I am not logged in as admin. I created a user for the Donation page, then logged in and that black bar is there.

Now the website at the moment is set as a staging site and Give is in test mode. I don’t think the black bar is suppose to show up is it? I know my client definitely does not want it to show. It seems like giving access to the Dashboard at all is not correct.

Maybe there is a setting that I am missing…
    The website is hgl.a8c.myftpupload.com

Thanks very much and appreciate your time,
    Tim

    HI Tim,

It looks like you’ve enabled the login/register feature of the Give forms, which is great and fine. This means that every time they donate, a user account is created for them and they are logged-in as that user upon successful donation.

Here’s your options on how to manage that and the black admin bar:
    1) You can disable that feature of the form if you like. Just go to edit that form and on the “Form Display” tab change the “Registration” option to “None”.

    2) If you want to still encourage donors to create a user account, but you don’t want them to be able to see the black admin bar or access the backend, understand first that that is the WordPress default behavior. Every user when logged into the website sees that admin bar as has access (though restricted access) to the backend. There are several free plugins to remove the admin bar for certain user levels. See here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/admin+bar/ — but even then savvy users would know that they can type in /wp-admin to get to the admin. For things like that, you’ll want to look for redirect plugins like “Peter’s Login Redirect”, but test it well so it doesn’t interfere with your donors being redirected to the donation confirmation page.

Let me know how that goes. Thanks!

    Hi Matt,
Wow, that was fast! Much appreciated.
I will be passing this info onto my client and see what he would like to do with the info you have provided.

Thank you for link to the admin bar plugin, I will be checking that out.

    Thanks again Matt,
    Tim
