WP-CLI wp-config.yml not working @stage

wp @stage core config
Error: Parameter errors:
missing –dbname parameter (Set the database name.)
missing –dbuser parameter (Set the database user.)

### wp-cli.yml ###
core config:
dbname: database
dbuser: root
dbpass: password
dbhost: localhost

Anyone has a clue why the parameters are missing? I copied the wp-cli.yml to the remote server, but still no solution. If I run wp core config directly on the remote server it works without problems.
