  • Hi there,

Did you get a resolution to this?

I had exactly the same issue, but with WP e-commerce.

Can’t login to the admin, as it redirects. The home page loads fine, but the shop elements don’t.

    A lot of the URL’s don’t work.

Tried to make changes via the database, but not ideal.

    Any thoughts or feedback, appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    G.

No it was an absolute nightmate. If you have a large site it does not work and support is non existant

This plugin is ridiculously broken. It somehow did a header redirect from my old admin page to the new one, and then broke all source and template links for both websites, the new and the old.

I’m really, really frustrated here…there is no way for anyone to repair the damage this plugin has done without intensive consulting and time spent re-doing what has already been developed and paid for. I do have backups, but this plugin effectively rendered both sites totally unusable as both admins redirect to the new website, a functionality which is absolutely diabolical in design.

Any update on this. I’m having the the same problem and this is driving me up the wall since WP Clone is my go-to tool for site cloning. Is this a bug? Is there an update in the works? What are the work around options, if any?

i also have the same problem
website copy successfully and shows on new domain and also WP login page
but when i sign in to wp the websites switch to original site also the same on forgot password option

You can manually do what WP Clone automates.
The WP Codex has instructions on moving WP installations, covering various combinations – same domain, different host; different domain, different host; different domain, different host. If the domain name changes, even if the clone is a subdirectory, the internal URLs need changing. Codex has instructions for this – the plugin does it under-the-covers.

I’ve never had it fail unless the site is too big, which may be a host limitation on how long a script is allowed to run.
